Cheryl Ruth Conn Henzen, the most loving wife, mother, and granny, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the age of 71.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Roy and Joyce Conn and spent many years of her youth living in different places (including England and Florida) due to her father's career with the Air Force. She graduated from Denison (Texas) High School in 1964 and later, Southwest Texas State University.

Cheryl's chosen calling as a teacher touched numerous lives; the majority of her teaching career was spent in La Vernia, Texas, where she made many good friends and met her husband Jim.

In the last few years since retiring from teaching, she and Jim loved to travel, going to places such as Scotland, Ireland, England, South Africa, Germany, Austria, Alaska and many, many more. More than anything she loved to spend time with her family-in Austin, at Lake McQueeney, in Oklahoma, wherever any happened to be.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, James Henzen; daughter Karen Cunningham and husband Ron; the two grandsons she loved more than anything in the world, Hunter and Luke Cunningham; brother, Steve Conn and wife Linda; aunt, Jessie Coleman, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 10 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Interment will follow in the Santa Clara Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Cunningham, Travis Conn, Kyle Williams, Chris Cielencki, Ryan Williams and Karl Henzen. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
