Obituary

Chief Master Sergeant Perry E. Graham, USAF (ret.), age 94 of Seguin, passed from this world on May 11, 2014 at the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Dugger Cemetery. He was born to Thomas Lusher and Addie (Sandell) Graham in Vernon Parish, La. Nov. 5, 1919, one of nine siblings. Perry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 72 years, Seguin native, Pearl Knodel Graham. Also surviving are three sons and daughter-in-laws, Perry and Linda of Houston, Ken and Carol of San Antonio, and Patrick and Carla of Austin. He is blessed with five grandchildren and six great grandchildren plus many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Perry is also survived by a younger sister Leatha McFerrin of Baton Rouge. Perry is a veteran of three wars, serving 28 years in the Army and then Air Force. Perry and Pearl retired from the Air Force to Seguin in 1966. Later, Perry continued his career with the Civil Service at Kelly AFB, retiring in 1982. Perry is a Mason of 68 years and a Past Master of Guadalupe Lodge 109 A.F. & A. M. He also was an active member for many years of the local Sherriff's Mounted Posse. He was honored in 1953, by then Mayor Roger Moore of Seguin, with a Certificate of Honor. He served several years as a Red Cross relief coordinator. Into his 90's he was a member of the Emanuel's Lutheran Church usher team. An avid golfer, he said goodbye to the game on his 90th birthday. He hooked his golf cart behind his pickup, as he had done for decades, proceeded to Starcke Park where he played golf for the last time.
