Clara Krueger Woehler Kallies, age 102, of Seguin, passed away on January 31, 2015. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 10 a.m. with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Clara was born October 19, 1912 to Willie F. and Emma Krueger at her family's home in the Eden community, along the Guadalupe River, east of Seguin. As a girl, she and her two brothers attended Eden School, and had the usual chores for farm children of that era- taking care of farm animals, milking cows, picking, cotton, etc. On November 8, 1940 she married Louis C. Woehler, who preceded her in death in 1967. On June 28, 1969 she married Arnold Kallies, who preceded her in death in 1974. Clara was a long time member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church and was very active in many of their groups including the Ladies Aid of Emanuel's, and the quilting group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #245, the hospital auxiliary, and the Seguin Hermann Sons Lodge #37. Clara is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Victor and Adolph Krueger; and step-son Leslie "Pete" Kallies. She is survived by her step-children, Evelyn Neumann, and Dorothy "Dottie" Kallies; grandchildren, Kenneth Neumann, Mona Ulbricht, Danny Neumann, Basil Kallies, Brenda Schrank, Steven Neumann, Jeffery Kallies, and Laura Major; 11 great-grandchildren, and 11 great great-grandchildren.
