Obituary

Clarence C. Frase, age 90 of Seguin, passed away on March 6, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Andy Taylor and Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. A reception will follow in the Life Enrichment Center. Clarence was born on May 11, 1926 in Moody Texas to Robert Fred and Rosine (Bredthauer) Frase. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in both the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign with the 32 nd Infantry Division and in the Occupation Army of Japan with the 19 th Infantry Division. He received his Master Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to working in education Clarence worked at Sears. He was a former Seguin ISD school teacher and later Superintendent of Schools and later served as Superintendent of Schools in the Navarro ISD. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church serving as Council President, numerous other committee memberships, Sunday School Teacher and Usher. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Seguin, having served as President and as Lt. Governor of the Texas-Oklahoma District of Kiwanis International. Clarence recently received the Lifetime Membership Award from Kiwanis. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Gilbert, Melvin, and Ray Frase, and sister, Cora Makowski. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Kathryn Frase; son, Steven Frase and wife Nancy; daughter Nancy Frase; grandson, Carter Scharmen; step-grandchildren, Chris Trost and his children Alec and Avery, Monty and Amy Trost and their children, Amber, Braeden, and Landon, and Everett Trost and his children, Peyton and Ava; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Trost, Monty Trost, Everett Trost, Victor Alto, James Leiber, and Ed Engelhardt and serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carter Scharmen, Scott Almquist and Doug Bierstedt. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 1326 E. Cedar St., Seguin, Texas, 78155.
