Voss

Clarence Max Voss, age 96, of Seguin, passed away on May 9, 2025. Clarence was born on February 6, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, to Lietha (Borchert) and Max Otto Voss. Clarence grew up attending the Dietert School in Zorn and served as the Treasurer of the Dietert School since 2006. He married Joyce Carleen Henk on April 27, 1952.
He proudly served his country: first in the United States Army, later in the National Guard, and he retired from the United States Air Force Reserve as a MSgt with a combined 26 years of military service. Clarence was named Outstanding Reserve Airman of the Central Texas Region in 1982. He also worked for the Unites States Postal Service retiring as a rural carrier in 1984 after 32 ½ years of faithful service.
Clarence was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, where he served one year on the Parish council and one year as Chairman. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly #2055 and Council 3412 where he served in various major offices for over 40 years. He enjoyed life memberships in both the American Legion HU Wood Post #245 in Seguin and the VFW Post #8456 in Geronimo. Clarence enjoyed camping with his young family at the Honeymoon Camp in Marble Falls, TX, and in later years, he and his wife would take their 5th wheel camper with their group, 'The Weakenders' to various campgrounds. An avid bowler, he was a life member of the Zorn Bowling Club.
Clarence is preceded in death by his son, Gerald Wayne Voss, his parents and his sister, Alice Ellison and husband David.
Survivors include his loving wife of 73 years, Joyce Voss; children, Jacqueline MyCue and husband Scott, Cynthia Voss, Jay Voss and wife Rosalynd; grandchildren, Brooke MyCue, Ryan Mycue and wife Monique, Hannah Voss and husband Philip Zealley, and Max Voss; great-grandchildren, Easton and Lindsay MyCue; several nieces and nephews, other loving family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 5 p.m., with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 6 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with the Reverend Gregory J. Nevlud officiating.
Graveside services and interment with military honors will follow at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
