Clifton (Cliff) Newton Hilz Sr, 83, of Seguin, Tx, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 in Seguin TX.  He was born May 7, 1941 in Pilot Point, Tx to Emil K. and Lillie M. (Spraggins) Hilz.

Cliff married Shirley D. Moiser Hilz in 1963.   Cliff worked as an AC technician for Dring Engineering for 42 years before retiring.   He enjoyed spending time with his family but also had several hobbies such as woodworking, fishing, camping, Bob Ross aspired painting, playing golf, bowling, dirt biking riding with his son, and watching TV.  Not a day he would miss his favorite show Judge Judy.

Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Lillie Hilz; brothers, Oscar Hilz and Gerald Hilz; Sister, Earline Hunt; and first-born son Clifton (Rusty) Newton Hilz Jr. Cliff is survived by wife Shirley Hilz, his son Brian Hilz and wife, Stacey of Seguin; Granddaughter Lauren Hilz and wife Samantha of Houston, Tx. Grandchildren: Haley and Randall Montgomery of Seguin; Dakota Zies of Seguin. Great-grandchildren: Brooks and Memphis Montgomery of Seguin and Douglas (Wyatt) Zies of Seguin.

Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel, 165 Tor Drive, Seguin, Texas, 78155. Service will be Friday, December 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Jacob Christian Seiler Cemetery, 128 River Road, Schertz, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the family cemetery for up keep and maintenance may be made to Jacob Christian Seiler Cemetery Fund, 1249, Hickory Forrest Drive, Seguin, Texas, 78155.
