Clyde Allen Powers, age 78 of Seguin, passed away peacefully due to heart failure on January 12, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. A reception will follow at the Powers Ranch. Private interment will be held at a later date at the Staples Cemetery. Clyde was born on November 14, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas, to Garland Arch, Sr. and Georginia Scott Powers. He was a graduate of Seguin High School Class of 1953. In 1957 he graduated from Texas A & M where he was proud to be a third generation "Aggie". He proudly served his country by serving in the United States Air Force Reserves. Clyde was a lifetime rancher where he operated and managed the Powers Ranch. He loved spending time on the ranch with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Garland Arch Powers, Jr., sister-in-law, Mildred Powers and brother-in-law, Alan Barnes. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Maribeth Roberts Powers of Seguin; sons, Scott Allen Powers of Seguin, Patrick William Powers and wife Ayeh of Dallas, and Andrew Clyde Powers and wife Brittany of Dallas; sister, Bonnie Barnes of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother-in-law, Billy Pat Roberts and wife Linda of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Madison Ameneh Powers, Ava Elizabeth Powers, Julia Saige Powers and Daniel Clyde Powers; nieces and nephews, Garland A. Powers, III and wife Debbie, Russell Barnes and wife Karen, Sandy Pham and husband Lon and Erin Roberts; great niece, Tiffany Powers Munk and husband Andrew and their daughter Hailee; great-nephew, Garland A. Powers, IV; numerous other loving family members and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Raetzsch for his constant care and support of Clyde through the years during his illness.
