Cody James "Big Country" Smith age 30 of Seguin, passed away on July 17, 2016. Visitation will held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Foster Roberts officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Cody was born on October 7, 1985 in Austin Texas to Eric Tyrone Smith and Laura Elizabeth Wilson Pope. Cody was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Marisa Smith; son, Eric James Smith; daughter, Kenzie Jane Smith; father, Eric Smith and wife Christy; mother, Laura Pope; sisters, Erica Smith, Courtney Smith, Kelsie Smith, Kendra Wiegand, Briana Shade, and Alexis M. Smith; brothers, Shawn Mendiola and Matthew Mendiola; grandmother, Carolyn Wilson; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Willie Daniels, Brandon Davis, Matthew Nix, Zach Wheeler and the Sons of the Texas Motorcycle Club.
