Obituary

Colonel (Dr.) Roy L. Bobbitt, age 81 of Seguin, passed away on February 19, 2015. Colonel Bobbitt was born on January 11, 1934 in DeKalb Texas to Ellis and Mary Cleo (Baker) Bobbitt. Colonel Bobbitt graduated from Medical School in 1959 and worked in private practice as a family physician for fifteen years. In 1975 he was commissioned in the United States Air Force and entered active duty in 1976. As an Air Force Pilot he logged more than 1000 flight hours and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal and many other medals for service during Desert Storm. Survivors include his wife, Judy Bobbitt; daughters, Laura Bobbitt and Brenda Schrader; grandsons, Bill and James Schrader; sisters, Mary Virginia Boyd and husband Bob, and Juanita Frances Youngblood; brother, J. T. Bobbitt and wife Sharon; sister-in-law, Kay Swope and husband Sanford; brother-in-law, Britton Myers and wife Rosemary; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. A memorial service, including military honors, celebrating Col. Bobbitt's life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Seguin at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, P. O. Box 736, Seguin, Texas, 78156.
