Cynthia Kay Haecker, age 65 of Seguin, passed away on January 10, 2017. Service will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11 AM at Emanuel's Lutheran Church in Seguin, Texas. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM that same morning at Emanuel's. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Survivors include her devoted husband Robert Haecker; loving sons, Russell Haecker and wife, Amanda, and Justin Haecker; grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Benjamin and Hannah Haecker; sister, Lorrayne Giese and husband, Richard; brother, Ronald Nipper and wife, Barbara; numerous nephews and nieces and many friends.
Cindy was born on October 28, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to Milton H. (Jack) and Leatrice Nipper. Cindy grew up in San Antonio, graduating from Churchill High School in 1969. She attended Texas Lutheran University, where she met her future husband, Robert, and graduated in 1973 with a B.S. in Biology. Cindy and Robert were married on June 16, 1973, and had 43 years together.
Cindy loved engaging people and enjoyed doing so daily at American Bank of Texas, where she worked her last decade of employment. She was a long standing member and once president of the Seguin, Texas Zonta Club. Cindy loved to garden and spent a lot of her energy at home maintaining an elaborate garden and sanctuary for hummingbirds. She also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with Robert and her sons.
