Daniel Dick Dotson, age 92 of Seguin, passed away on April 16, 2009. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 3:00 to – 5:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H.U. Wood Post #245. Daniel was born on December 29, 1916 in Blanco, Texas to Pat and Annie Belle De Loach Dotson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and will be remembered as a life long carpenter in Guadalupe County. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Henry Dotson, Vernon Dotson, L.M. Dotson and sister, Edna Row. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Lanie Dotson; daughter Dorothy Hawkins and husband Pete; granddaughter, Donna Hawkins and fiance, Bruce Dodson; grandson, Wesley Hawkins and wife, Lynne; great grandchildren, Wendy Hawkins, Courtney Neumann and husband, Scott, Kelly Boutwell, Kathleen Boutwell, Travis Hawkins, Jeremy Boutwell and wife, Mindy, and Jenna Hawkins; great-great grandson, Corey Hawkins; brother, Buddy Dotson and wife, Gladys: sisters, Nina Steffens and Shirley Albers; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center, 1865 East US Hwy. 90, Seguin, Texas, 78155 or any children's charity of choice.
