Darline Tucker Haiflich, 87, of League City, Texas, formerly of La Porte and Seguin, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born on August 2, 1928 in Sparks, Oklahoma to Raymond and Mabell Tucker. She graduated from La Porte High School in La Porte, Texas in 1945 and attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was married, on February 16, 1947, to Bill Haiflich in Bremen, Indiana. They were married for 69 years. She was employed by Bayshore Savings Association, in La Porte, Texas, for 30 years and, during that time, attained the position of Executive Vice President. She enjoyed sewing and was an avid quilter. The family would like to express their thanks to The Crossings Skilled Nursing Facility for their compassionate care during Darline's final days. She is survived by her husband, Bill, of League City, Texas and their three children, Deborah Higgins of Florence, Colorado, Scott Haiflich of La Porte, Texas, Laurel (Tracy) Moser of La Porte, Texas, 4 grandchildren, Julie (Brant) Arrington, Patrick (Erin) Higgins, Ian Moser, Hailee Moser, 6 great grandchildren, Aimee Harrison, Mason Ayers, Kameryn Arrington, Peyton Arrington, Patrick Higgins, Leanora Higgins, brother Vaughn Tucker and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mabell Tucker, sister, Gwen Crofoot and sister, Gloria Schink. The service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 A. M. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Church, 902 Timmermann Road, Seguin, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:15 a.m. at the church.
