Darren Joe Reid, age 43 of Florida, formerly of Seguin, passed away on May 22, 2008 in Florida after a tragic fall from a television tower. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 9:30 a.m.. Graveside service and interment will be held Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in the La Pryor Cemetery in La Pryor, Texas. Joe was born on August 18, 1964 in Uvalde Texas to Byrl Reid and Laverne Andrews Weber. Joe will be remembered as a calf roper, and a jockey having begun his professional career at 16. He attended Seguin High School. He later enjoyed racing horses, having won jockey of the year in 1982. Joe was an avid fisherman. Joe is preceded in death by both of his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Reid of Pleasanton, Texas and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Andrews of LaPryor, Texas, two uncles, Edgar Lee Reid and Nelson Andrews both of La Pryor and two nephews, Christopher Lee Alonso and Joseph Gilbert Gaytan both of La Pryor , Texas. Survivors include his wife Lisa Reid; sons, Zachary Chase Reid and Cody Joe Reid; step-sons, Blake Eikenberg, Mason Taylor and Evan Taylor; parents, Mark and Laverne Weber and Byrl Reid and Kathy; sister, Diana Reid; brother, David Reid and wife Margaret; nieces, Ashlee Marek and husband Aaron and their son Dylan; Rachel Bennett and her sons, Damien and Devon; nephews, James Reid and wife Miranda and their son Cameron, Jonathan Palmer and his daughters, Saphyre, Shenoah and Violette and Daniel Palmer; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
