David Elliott Ivey

David Elliott Ivey, age 73 of Nixon, passed away on July 11, 2026. David was born in Gonzales County, Texas on December 8, 1952, to Florene Odell (Brown) and Braxton Owen Ivey.

David was a graduate of Nixon High School, class of ’72. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and worked as a welder in the oil and gas industry. However, his favorite occupation was always farming and working the land.

David is preceded in death by his father, his sister, Kathy Wilson, his brother, Robert “Bubba” Ivey and his brothers-in-law, Vernon May, Jeff Holmes and J. W. Whitfield.

Survivors include his children, Leslie Ann Ivey, Stacey Rae Kaumo and husband Joseph, Dusty Michelle Ivey and husband Jason Black, Catherine Ivey, Rebecca Guilmet and husband Dave, and Michael Garber; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; mother, Florene Bauer; sisters, Shirley Whitfield, Elaine May, Cindy Janysek and husband Richard, and Mary Holmes; brother-in-law, Robert Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, at 9:30 am at the Oak Valley Country Church with the Reverend Marvin Miles officiating. Interment will follow in the Caraway Cemetery nearby.
