David A. Laing, age 78 of Seguin, passed away on March 10, 2025.  Dave was born in Franklin Park, Illinois on December 31, 1946 to Helen (Plaza) and Edwin Laing.

Dave enjoyed working and was the owner and operator of Gage Tool and Manufacturing since 1995.

No one loved high school football more than Dave.  He always supported Navarro High School Football.  Other interests included driving on his Kubota mowing the grass.  If you found him at McDonalds his regular order always included a triple cheese burger.  While in the kitchen he loved to cook, bread making one of his favorites.  He also enjoyed fishing off of his pier at home and people watching at the beach.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don Laing and his brothers-in-law, Jack Fanella, and Jim Templin, and his best friend and business partner, Sam Conlin.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Conlin-Laing; sons, David J. Laing and wife Amy, and Kevin Laing; daughters, Kelly Johnson and husband Shawn, Melissa Laing Urrea and husband Will, and Becky Gillis and husband David; sisters, Eileen Templin and Carol Fanella; brothers, Tom Laing and wife Gerry and Chuck Laing and wife Jan; sister-in-law, Germaine Laing; mother-in-law, Pam Conlin; his best friend and brother, Jeff Perry and wife Deb; his Gage Tool family, Bob Mosmeyer and Jim Schultz and his beloved service dog, Buck. Thirteen grandchildren who knew and loved him as Big Papa; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and a host of friends.  Best of times were always spent among family and friends and his beloved 11 dogs.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by a memorial service celebrating Dave's life at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Jim Price officiating.
