David Lee Reiff, age 61 of Seguin, passed away on October 13, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. David was born on March 20, 1953 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Walter Lee and Dorothy June (Knupp) Reiff. He obtained his Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He was a former longtime employee of Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin and most recently an Instructor of Nursing at St. Philip's College in San Antonio. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Seguin. He loved golf, hunting and target shooting. David played stand-up Bass in the Ledbetters Bluegrass Band. He was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Diane Reiff. Survivors include his loving wife Susie Reiff; daughters, Jennifer Donnelly and husband Ray, and Sarah Conell and husband Jacob; step-sons, Patrick Teague and wife Staci and Christopher Teague and wife Melissa; brother, Jerry Reiff; step-mother, Marilou Reiff; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, other loving family members and many friends; and his beloved dachshunds, Schatzie and Rocky. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Stevens, Forest Mims, David Arnold, Jerry Reiff, Christopher Teague, Patrick Teague, Jacob Conell and Mike Connolly. Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Smith.
