Debbie Bacon, 70, of McQueeney, passed away on June 16, 2017. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Andy Taylor officiating. A reception will follow in the Life Enrichment Center. Private burial will be at a later date in the Faith Lutheran Church Columbarium. Debbie was born on March 8, 1947 in Austin, Texas. She was a graduate of Seguin High School, class of 1965. After high school, she attended Mary Hardin Baylor and Southwest Texas State University. When Debbie was 19, she went to work for Braniff Airlines as a stewardess until their closing. It was during this time that she was set up on a blind date in San Antonio. Debbie was introduced to Alfred James Bacon, Sr., a transplanted Yankee, and it was love at first sight. Al thought that Debbie was the most beautiful person he had ever met, both inside and out. He knew that this was his soul mate, so much so that the couple were engaged two months later, and married within six months of knowing each other. They shared 42 and a half wonderful years together, ending all too soon with her passing. During their marriage, Debbie raised three sons, Alfred "Chip", Jr., Derrick, and Brian as a full time stay at home mom for ten years. Debbie then went to work as the administrative assistant in the Seguin Independent School district for principal Dave Gettig, a job and boss she loved. She and Dave had a wonderful working relationship and friendship. She retired from the school district when he did. Debbie's retirement gave her more time to devote to the things that mattered most to her; her family, friends, and community. She served on the council at Faith Lutheran Church, was a member of the Treasure Island Ladies Group, where she loved their coffee and lunch meetings; a board member of the Ski Bees, the Treasure Island Home Owners Association, and volunteer bell ringer during Christmas with the Salvation Army. Debbie recently won the bronze medal at the 2 nd annual Treasure Island Olympics. Debbie was an involved wife, companion, and mother. She loved her family fiercly and spent countless hours with her boys, driving ski boats for practice, taking them to competitions, and welcoming the entire neighborhood into her home. Debbie was also a devoted grandma and Meme to her grandchildren, Austin, Caitlyn, Addisyn, and Krue. Debbie was a remarkably vivacious, witty, and loving woman who was beloved by all who had the privilege to call her friend. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Alfred James "Chip" Bacon, Jr.; step- father, Ben Stein; brother, Dolphus Carlstrand. Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Alfred James Bacon, Sr; sons, Derrick Bacon and wife Joanna, and Brian Bacon and wife Alexandra; grandchildren, Austin Bacon, Caitlyn, Addisyn, and Krue Bacon; mother, Helen Stein; niece and nephews, Todd, Holly and Clint, as well as many friends. Serving as pallbearers are Dave Gettig, Barry Harrison, Robert Vogel, Cullen Franz, Joe Heggy, Cody Moore, Thomas Belton, and Larry Wright. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1326 E. Cedar St., Seguin, Texas, 78155, the Guadalupe County Humane Society, P. O.
