On February 17, 2021, Delia Moreno, 92, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother was called home to Heaven.
Mrs. Delia (Vargas) Moreno was born on April 10, 1928 in Yorktown, TX to Ramon and Delia Vargas. On January 13, 1952 she married Domingo Moreno, and together they raised eight children; six daughters and two sons.
Delia was a homemaker dedicated to her family. In Seguin, she was known as the "Tamale Lady" and was recognized and featured in the Seguin Gazette. But to her family, she had many loving nicknames including her most recent given to her from her great grandchildren, GG (Great Grandma). GG had many hobbies that included sewing, crocheting, putting together 100+ piece puzzles, traveling and taking trips to the casino with her daughters. She loved and cherished the time she spent with her family during the holidays, birthdays, special occasions and all the other times in between. She was loved by many and is going to be missed dearly.
Delia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Domingo Moreno; her mother and father, Ramon and Delia; her younger brother, Willie Vargas; and her younger sister Sulema Vargas. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Flores, Margaret Moreno (Mark), Irma Moreno, Esther Grimaldo, Del Martinez, Domingo Moreno Jr. (Sandra), Larry Moreno (Veronika), and Zoila Mata (Rene). She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Vargas Jr., Irene Harris, David Vargas, Mary Garcia, Lillie Vasquez, and Joe Vargas, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great, great grandchildren. Private funeral services were held for the family on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Tres Hewell Mortuary in Seguin, TX.
