Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Stephen Caddell officiating. She graduated from Calhoun High School, Port Lavaca,Texas in 1977. She attended Southwestern Assembly of God Bible College, Waxahachie, Texas in 1978. She was a resident of Ponder, Texas. On Feb 21, 2012 at 4:25 a.m., surrounded by her loving family & friends, Denise took her last earthly breath. Her next breath was in Heaven where she stood proudly, waving the flag of victory, with Jesus at her side. The warrior is God's child. She fought bravely & fiercely against her opponent for 9 long years. The battle has been won. She is now with the Saviour & Lover of her soul, Jesus Christ, for eternity. Denise was one of those people who come into your life & leave footprints on your heart that can never be erased or faded with time. She continuously shared her faith with others & encouraged each one to find & nurture a personal relationship with Christ. Her smile was contagious & her laughter was music to the ear. She had the voice of an angel & a heart of gold. She treasured each friend she ever had. Her unique love & friendship always made you feel like a special person in her life & you knew you were. She defined the term "Gifted & Talented". God placed within her the ability to elegantly express herself in words & music. She had an eye for the beautiful gifts of nature & captured them in her love of photography. She saw the value & worth in each person's heart & soul. She could gently uncover hidden gifts in a person and expose them so they could be developed & used to make the world a better place. Her father preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Kay Cheuvront and husband Aaron; son, Matthew Martin and wife Wendy; mother, Billie Caddell; sister, Cynthia Miller and husband Ron; brother, Rev. Stephen Caddell and wife Melissa; aunt, Peggy Bishop; great-aunts, Odette Sprenger and Willie Mae Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and a host of friends. We once heard the music of her laughter and the angelic song of her lips. Now, we hear her whispers from Heaven, "I am happy, I am whole, and I am free. Weep for me but for a moment, rejoice with me for eternity." Until we meet again, Denise, we will hold you close to our heart. We will be forever grateful that we were blessed to know you between Heaven & Earth. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
