Dennis Michael DeLisio of Fischer, TX passed away unexpectedly at the age of 78 years old on January 14, 2021 at 11:11am, with his beloved wife Marlene by his side.

Dennis was born in Chicago Heights, IL to Pasquale and Mary DeLisio. He married Marlene on September 14, 1973.

Growing up in Steger, Illinois, Dennis attended Bloom High School and then served in the United States Army from 1964-1967. He was a longtime resident of Crete, Illinois where he was a proud member of the Crete Masonic Lodge. Dennis and Marlene relocated to Fischer, TX after retiring in 2010.

Dennis dedicated much of his adult life to his business, Union Avenue Auto Body & Marine Repair in Steger, IL. He was a Master of his trade and there wasn't a thing he couldn't do. From building helicopters to patenting his own inventions, he did it all. One of Dennis' favorite hobbies was flying his cherished Cessna 310D, N6999T. Another hobby that Dennis loved was rebuilding antique cars. His latest project was a 1974 Chevy Nova SS, which he frame-up restored. In retirement, Dennis enjoyed fishing, boating, wood working, and was an active member of the New Braunfels Area Car Club. Dennis and Marlene loved animals, especially their fur-babies Missy, Maggie, Baylor, and Max who will truly miss him. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Pasquale and Mary DeLisio, brother Dale DeLisio, and nephew Scott DeLisio.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marlene, daughters Lisa DeLisio-Elliott (Michael) of St. John, IN, Danielle Howerton (John) of New Braunfels, TX, grandchildren Hannah, Olivia, Bryce, Sophia, Micah, great grandson Machiavelli, and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis adored his family and life-long friends. Those that knew and loved him, understood his love for animals. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Dennis to your local Humane Society. A private memorial service will be held in Illinois at a later date.
