Dennis L. Lynn, age 73 of McQueeney, passed away on November 8, 2009. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with Rev. Kevin Dellaria, Rev. Sam Gottlich and Rev. Ron Lynn officiating. A reception will follow in Mc Keough Hall. Private family graveside service and interment will be held later at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. Dennis was born on February 29, 1936 in Alice, Texas to Robert Boyd, Sr. and Ruanna Rene Kownslar Lynn. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, serving in Turkey during peaceful times. He was a long time employee of Johnson Oil Company. His son, Steve precedes him in death as does his parents and brother, Gerald Lynn. Survivors include his wife, soulmate and love of his life, Linda Lynn; children, Denise Lynn, Jo Ellen Whittaker and husband John, P. S. Lanum and wife Dawn, Holly Modl and husband Kelly; 11 grandchildren – "the best a "Pop" could ever ask for"; loving and devoted brothers, Bob Lynn and wife Mary and Ron Lynn and wife Mary Lou, whom he was both very proud of; numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Galaway, Abe Zapata, Randy Herzog, Russ Carnahan, Mark Montague and Mike Burke. Honorary pallbearers will be Cleveland Engelhardt and Fletcher Johnson. Dennis life will be remembered as one full of love, laughter and great BBQ! The family would like to thank A-Med Community Hospice for their kind and loving care of Dennis.
