Dewitt Odom, age 95 of Seguin, passed away on March 9, 2015. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jim Price officiating and full military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245 and Doug Herrle Chapter 61 DAV. Private interment will be held on March 18, 2015 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Dewitt was born in Roganville Texas on February 23, 1920 to Lawrence Isiah and Adell (Sheffield) Odom. He proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp participating in both the Battle of the Bulge and the invasion of Normandy. In 1966 he retired from the United States Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant. He served as the executive director of the Seguin Housing Authority for over 20 years. He enjoyed car collecting, dancing and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma R. Odom, his son, Ray Odom, his granddaughter, Ashley Odom, his parents and his sister, Janette Jones. Survivors include his children, R. D. Odom, Sr. and wife Violet, Gayle Barker and husband Charles, and Roy Odom and wife Yolanda; grandchildren, Ronny Odom, Jr. and wife Dina, Nicole Eller, Bradley Eller, Rebecca Polanco, Dustin Odom and wife Maria, Alexandria Thiering and husband Samuel, and Michael Garrett; great-grandchildren, Alex, Anthony, Alissa, Andrew, Christian, Rozlyn, Haylee, Casper, Chassidy, Brandon, Jazmine, Isabella, Destiny, Alexander, and Audrey Rose; great-great granddaughter, Avery; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronny Odom, Dustin Odom, Rebecca Polanco, Nicole Eller, Bradley Eller, and Alex Thiering. Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Center, 510 E.
