Donald Wayne Becker, age 77 of Seguin, passed away on November 8, 2015. Don was born in Seguin, Texas on March 31, 1938 to Paul E. Becker and Annie Mae Rux Becker. He passed away peacefully the morning of November 8, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Emma Jean, one son, Rev. Brett W. Becker and wife Corinne, and one daughter, Brandi Lee Becker along with one grandson, Paul William Becker. He is survived by two sisters, Anna Lois Lindemann and husband, James and Barbara Haas and husband, Kenneth. One sister-in-law, Betty Vetter and husband, Clarence and several nieces and nephews. Don graduated from Seguin High School (class of 1956) and Texas Lutheran College in December of 1959. He received his master's degree from SWTSU and did some doctoral studies at The University of Texas. He spent 26 years teaching math and counseling in Seguin ISD. He was head of counseling and computer services for several years. He spent 19 years teaching higher math in the Marion ISD. He was known for his keen intellect and quick wit. He loved to compete in softball, bowling, card and domino games. He took on leadership roles within the church serving on various committees and was president of the Cross Church Council two times. He also served as president of the Seguin Little League Association. He was a member of many professional organizations. Bowling was his passion and teaching math was his calling. During his retirement he enjoyed traveling, taking care of the farm, and being around his family and friends. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's on Sept. 20, 2007 and the longest journey to say good-by began. His Christian faith sustained him and his love of family maintained him through this difficult time. He will be missed by those who knew him. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Don Ofsdahl officiating. A reception will follow in the Life Enrichment Center. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Vetter, Greg Vetter, Bradley Lindemann, Lori Lindemann Mason, Trevor Haas and Burke Hannibal. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1326 E.
