Donald W. Janssen, age 86 of Seguin, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on February 25, 2011. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at French Mortuary in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Donald was born on January 25, 1925 in Yorktown, Texas to Dietrich and Viola Thurk Janssen. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II where he earned the Purple Heart. He will be remembered as a civil engineer in Albuquerque up until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sister Carroll Buesing; nephews, Darryl Smithey and wife Stacey and Matthew Smithey and wife Edie; several great nieces and great nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice Organization or Humane Society of choice.
