Dorothy "Dotty" Blanche Krause , age 92, went home to be with her Lord on May 1, 2018 following a brief illness. Dotty was born in Houston, Texas on March 29, 1926, the middle daughter of Walter Kosse and Blanche Schmidt. Dotty and her sisters were close their entire lives, enjoying time together at their parent's bay house and their annual women's trip to Camp Warnecke on the Comal River in New Braunfels. She attended San Jacinto High School, but disliking school she left to work in downtown Houston at Vinson & Elkins law firm. At the age of 18 she eloped to Galveston Texas with the first love of her life, Paul Krause. Dotty and Paul were married for 51 years and were blessed with three loving children, Paul "Gerry", Kyle, and Kimberly whom they raised in the beautiful home they built together on North Braeswood in Houston. Dotty was devoted to her Christian beliefs, her family and her friends. Besides her family and beloved cats, she loved cooking, gardening , family camping trips and being involved in her church. Her lifelong passion was fishing, which eventually would lead her and Paul to move to the Brazos River Club near West Columbia, Texas. After Paul's passing, the Brazos River Club was where she met the second love of her life, Jacky Jackson. Dotty and Jack were married on March 26, 1999 and spent 16 wonderful years living on the lake up until his death. In those later years, she particularly enjoyed sitting on the back deck with Jack enjoying a glass of wine overlooking the lake and tending to her much loved tomato plants. Dotty always had her family and friends on her mind. This was evident by her thoughtful generosity in sharing things such as recipes, health tips, articles SHE thought you would enjoy, and of course, vegetables from her garden, especially her tomatoes!! Dotty was truly grateful to be able to live her last years independently in her home. This would not have been possible without the help and support of her family and friends, and especially, two very important people; Pam Homburg and Linda Wooten.
Dotty was predeceased by her parents, husband Dr. Paul Krause, her son Kyle Eric Krause, husband Jacky Jackson and sister Marjorie Hilton. Dotty is survived by her son Paul Krause Jr. and wife Libby, daughter Kimberly Weldon and her husband Clark, her sister Kosse Hodges, her five grandchildren; Heather, Raina, Jace, Kelly, Kacy, and four great grandchildren; Jake, Ben, Woody, & Huck, a close extended family and her much loved grandcat Tucker. Dotty was an example of faith; a loving and caring mom, grandmother , great grandmother, sister and friend. Namaw, Nan, or Nanny, as she was called by her grandchildren will be greatly missed.
