On Sept 25, 1986 a beautiful baby boy with curly hair and big brown eyes was born to Jim and Chrissy Koenig in Austin, Texas. He was welcomed home by his big sister and brother, Brittany and Josh. Drew Zachary completed the Koenig Family and was truly the beloved baby brother for years to come.
His grew up in McQueeney, Texas filling his days with activities at the Mill operated there by the family. 4-H stock show projects kept him busy and stories of his chickens, rabbits and hogs filled his days.
Growing up, Drew attended schools in McQueeney and Seguin. He excelled in athletics at Seguin High School, where he was a starting quarterback. This provided his family, and especially aunts, uncles, and cousins, with lots of fun and excitement as they attended his high school games. One of the highpoints was ending a long losing streak to New Braunfels High School his senior year.
He graduated from Seguin High School in 2005 and then attended UTSA and Texas State University. While attending college, Drew worked various jobs, but his time at The Texas Game Warden Association was one of his favorites.

He won over the hearts of his niece, nephews and younger cousins with his playful personality. He had the unique ability of relating to the young and elderly with a spirit not often found in someone his age. As the youngest grandchild, he had a special relationship with his Grandma Fohn, and was deeply saddened with her passing (on his birthday) at age 99. Tall, handsome, with a big presence and disarming grin, he possessed a gentleness towards all. This quality endeared him to many, family, friends or anyone he met.

Drew met the love of his life on New Year's Eve, 2012, and he and Stephanie Johnson were inseparable ever since. He was excited and looking forward to a future with Stephanie.

He is preceded in death by his uncle, Larry Fohn, and his paternal grandparents, Juanita and Fred Koenig and his maternal grandparents, Bertha and Horace Fohn.

Drew Zachary Koenig is survived by his fiancé, Stephanie Johnson; parents Jim and Chrissy Koenig; sister Brittany Hanna and husband John; brother Josh Koenig and wife Amy; adoring niece and nephews, Hudson, Cortland and Berkeley Hanna and Jacob and Jase Koenig; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary, Seguin, Texas. Funeral services and burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne, Texas at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rockne. Donations in Drew's memory can be made to the Texas Game Warden Association, whose mission of introducing Texas youth to the beauty and value of our land and wildlife was something Drew was passionate about, 4367 FM 1047, Hamilton, Texas, 76531.
