Edward "Ed" F. Brawner, age 80 of Seguin passed away on August 19, 2010. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 12 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Weinert House. Ed was born on January 21, 1930 in Guadalupe County to Samuel P. and Mary Mondin Brawner. Ed was a graduate of Seguin High School, attended three years at Texas Lutheran University and graduated from Texas State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He will be remembered as an accountant here in Seguin. His memberships included serving as secretary for the Kiwanis Club for 25 years and a member of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Sam Brawner. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Delores "Tuta" Brawner; sons, William Clay Brawner and wife Ginger of Hondo and Michael E. Brawner of Spring; daughters, Dawn Ring and husband James of Monument, Colorado and Monica Kohlenberg of Tomball; grandchildren, Misty Ring, Nikolas Reed, Stevie Reed, Weston Ring and wife Heather, Cody Fuller, Brandi Ring, Catherine Brawner, Zachary Brawner, Sawyer Kohlenberg, Michael Brawner, Dylan Kohlenberg, Tammy Hunter, Mindy Reed and Jason Ring; great-grandchildren, Aiden Reed, Peyton Reed, Ruthie Reed, Marlin Ring; brothers, Eugene Brawner and wife Anne, Lester Brawner and wife Mary Frances and Bruce Brawner; sisters-in-law, Marlene Reininger and husband James and Lorraine Eckols; brothers-in-law, Wallace Felsing and wife Al and John Felsing and wife Sandy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ed was an avid outdoorsman and specifically enjoyed fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren and for many years with his "Brush Buddies" who included P. D. Parks, Olen Downs, Red Ewald, Herbert Schubert, Raymond Schubert and Burl Smith. He also enjoyed boating on many lakes in Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Brawner, Tom Brawner, Brian Brawner, Patrick Brawner, Jeff Felsing, Rusty Reininger, Craig Reininger, Tom Eckols, Mitchell Eckols and Scott Eckols.
