Edwardo C. (Eddie) Martinez, Jr., age 65 of Seguin, passed away peacefully at his home with his family and friends at his side on October 14, 2012. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 beginning at 5 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel, Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. for the mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery. Eddie was born on October 22, 1946 in Seguin, Texas. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eleno Urquiza, Sr. and Anita Cantu Urquiza and his brothers, Robert and Eleno Urquiza, Jr. Survivors include his daughters, Anitra Vidal and husband Roy, and Rita D. Martinez-Soto and husband Brian; son, John Edward Martinez; sisters, Janie Ann Urrutia and Mary E. Thiessen and husband Michael; grandchildren, April Danielle, Bobby Joe, Jayden, Brian Scott, Hailey Faith and Donavan Roy; uncle, Domingo G. Urquiza; niece, Naomi Urquiza; numerous cousins and friends.
