Elaine Stirl, age 67 of Smiley, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2017. A memorial service celebrating Elaine's life will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Smiley United Methodist Church with Rev. Harlene Sadler and Rev. Joe Rogers officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Elaine was born on November 25, 1949 in Cotulla, Texas to Lewis H. and Evelyn Teresa (Turner) Bahn. She was a 1967 graduate of Cotulla High School and attended Dominican College in Houston where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Information Management in 1971. In 1972, Ernie and Elaine moved to Nixon, Texas where Elaine served as the Tax Assessor/Collector for three years. She then was the gift buyer/ office manager at Main Drug and Gifts for 33 years. Her parents and her grandchildren, Shaden Keen, Zoe Keen, and Tanner Keen preceded her in death. Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Ernest A. (Ernie) Stirl; daughters, Shae Keen and husband Dennis, and Stephanie Stirl; grandchildren, Dennison Keen, Piper Keen, and Michael Keen; sister-in-law, Lynette Stirl; numerous cousins, her Main Drug Family and many friends.
