Elden Ray Jones, age 87 of Seguin, passed away September 4, 2016. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:15 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Dale Jones officiating. Ray was born on August 4, 1929 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Barney and Maude Augusta (Young) Jones. He proudly served his country at the end of WWII in the United States Army Air Corps. Ray met and married the love of his life, Linda Moore on September 5, 1964, and were married for 52 years. Ray sold life insurance for National Life Insurance, now AIG. He was promoted to staff manager, and later to manager. He won many trips as a top salesman for him and Linda to take. Ray loved to play golf, and did so until his illness prevented it. He is preceded in death by his parents, and he was the last survivor of 9 siblings. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda; children Bruce Jones, Pam Jones, Doug Jones, and Craig Jones; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Joe Villegas, beloved friend who Ray and Linda considered as another son; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
