Elizabeth Eileen Whitten, of Seguin, Texas, was born December 3rd, 1943 and passed away on May 9th, 2014, at the age of 70 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Whitten. She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Clay Kluth, also of Seguin, Texas. Her world revolved around her family and her cats. Elizabeth was known as Mrs. Gann by her former Seguin High School students and Mrs. Schulze by her Briesemeister Middle School students. She loved teaching, and was always running into previous students who routinely reminded her that she was their favorite teacher when they were in school. After retirement, Elizabeth didn't slow down a bit. She loved bird watching, gardening, and was a prolific reader of everything from Shakespeare to James Patterson. She was a master quilter, and enjoyed doing needlepoint. She even bought a motorcycle when she was in her sixties, and many of you will remember seeing her cruising around town on her bright yellow three wheeled Can-Am Spyder. Her passing was unexpected and a tragic loss to all who knew her, and we mourn the loss of a wonderful woman. Friends and former students are encouraged to come and celebrate her life at her home on Saturday, May 17th, 2014. Please contact Lori Kluth on Facebook for more details. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guadalupe County Humane Society, P. O. Box 1593, Seguin, TX 78155-1593.
