Elmer Knight Morse Jr., age 88 of Cibolo, Texas passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, and now rests in the loving presence of his Lord. He was born on November 3, 1937, in Warwick, Massachusetts. Elmer “Sonny,” a nickname given by his grandfather Howard and known by others as “Al” proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, joining at the age of 17 years old and completing two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He served as an Educator and Training Specialist and was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion.

Following his military service, he devoted his life to his family; working in property management and as a security officer to provide for his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted and faithful child of God with a deep passion for sharing the Word with everyone he encountered. Elmer loved teaching the Bible and served as a Bible teacher at The Country Church in Marion, Texas as well as in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He will be remembered for his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, his quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and his deep love for his family and country.

He was the eldest of 3 boys and a country boy raised on a farm. He was preceded by his parents, Father- Elmer Knight Morse Sr. of Richmond, NH and Mother- Louise Mae Morse ‘ne LaPlante of Winchenden, Massachusetts; brothers George Morse and John Morse; daughters Robin Neal and Mary Cooper.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Benita Alpez Morse; along with his sons Joel Leanda (children-Daniel, Melissa, Julie and Jaydre Leanda), Jonas Leanda (wife Marie Leanda, son Dante Leanda, daughters Shennelle and Delainey Leanda), and Junie Leanda (wife Jennifer Leanda; children- Joseph and Myrissa, Zach and Kyle Barbosa, and Jasmine Leanda); daughters Michelle Hennen (children Ashley and Aaron Hennen ), Maria Anniebeth Leyva (spouse Daniel Leyva; children- Christopher and Kai Tornello, Daniel Dominic and Angel Leyva, and great grand-daughter - Amelia Vada Diaz), and Jobelle Morse; grandchildren Joshua Neal, Justin Neal, Christopher Neal, Tiffany and Austin Cooper; multiple great grandchildren and extended family members.
