Elmer Karl Randow, age 93 of Zorn passed away on February 22, 2012. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Tres Hewell Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Rich Van Natter officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Zorn Cemetery. A reception will follow at Good Shepherd. Elmer was born on March 3, 1918 in Zorn, Texas to Curt and Anna Dreibrodt Randow. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a lifetime farmer and rancher in Guadalupe County. He was one of the founders of the York Creek Volunteer Fire Department having donated land for the first station. He continued to support them throughout his life. Elmer was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, and in later years became an admirer and occasional visitor, as he could, to Good Shepherd Evangelical Church both in the Geronimo area. His memberships included the American Legion H. U. Wood Post 245 in Seguin and the Geronimo VFW Post 8456 of which he was a founding member. Elmer will also be remembered as an avid Studebaker collector. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Evelyn Randow, his son, Gary Randow, his parents, and his sister, Wallie Knodel. Survivors include his daughters, Pauline (Polly) Linaberry and husband Ed, and Bettye Jean Urban and husband Curtis; son, Karl Randow and wife Elaine; grandchildren, Christopher Karl Urban, Sabrina Deets and husband Christopher, Forrest Sterling O'Shay and fiancé Ashley Yates, and Robert Christian Randow, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Karl Urban, Robert Christian Randow, Forrest Sterling O'Shay, Russ Schwarzlose, Dwayne Schwarzlose, Leroy Schwarzlose, and Jacinto Rincon. Honorary pallbearers will be C. Jacob Urban and Clay Michael Deets.
