Marjorie "Eloise" Lee Trafton, age 68 of Berclair, passed away peacefully on a glorious sunny Texas afternoon on September 23, 2011. She was born on April 10, 1943, to the proud parents, Leon and Anna Mae Brown McCutcheon in Dumas, Texas. She graduated from Dumas High School in 1961. She Became the Director of the Out-patient Clinic at the Driscoll Children's Hospital in Robstown. Eloise attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and earned her degree at Texas A & I University in Kingsville. She then became the Public Accountant for the Marriott hotel and later the Accountant for the numerous divisions of the Dean Sanders Corporation, including the Shoreline Quality Inn in Corpus Christi. She also worked as a public accountant for Womack and Womack in Kingsville, Texas. She had two sons, Curtis and Maurice Lee. Eloise was an active member of the Beeville Art Association and partook in the restoration of the Berclair Mansion. She was the President of the Soroptimist International of Beeville. She was an active participant with the Women of the Church, a Lifelong Episcopalian and a longtime member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beeville. "Weezy" married James "Doc" Trafton on April 15, 1980, and through this marriage she became the mother of two daughters, Tammi L. Trafton and Sheryl Trafton, and two sons Edward Trafton and Stephen Trafton. She and Doc raised a small herd of cattle, mostly as a hobby, because they could never sell any of them. Each of the thirty-five head had their own names and immediately became pets. Eloise also very much enjoyed raising her four Schnauzer dogs and cat, Bingo. She is preceded in death by her husband James "Doc" Trafton, her brothers Max and Leo McCutcheon and her parents Leon and Anna Mae McCutcheon. Eloise is survived by sons Curtis Lee of Garland, Texas, and Maurice Lee of Scottsdale, Arizona; Tammi Trafton Johnson and husband Keith; Stephen Trafton and wife Sue; Edward Trafton and wife Lisa; Sheryl Trafton Hunt and husband James; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew her as "Grandma". Eloise was a person everyone strives to be, devoting much of her time to community and church work, and always ready to help those in need. Memorial Services will be held at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beeville at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2011 with Father Kevin Dellaria and Father Clayton Elder officiating, followed by a private family graveside service.
