Epifanio Cavazos Mendez, age 90 of San Antonio, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Epifanio was born on April 7, 1930 in Pearsall, Texas to Alonso and Andrea (Cavazos) Mendez. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Joe Alex Mendez, and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his children, Silvester Mendez and partner Maria Jimenez, Roy Mendez and wife Margie, and Gloria Mendez Guajardo and husband Albert; daughter-in-law, Alicia Mendez; step-daughters, Beatrice Bosquez and husband Torino, and Elizabeth "Liz" Rios and husband Joe; sisters, Mary Douglas, Beatrice Gonzales and Rosa Rodriguez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members, and many friends. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions a private Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Private interment will also be held at Dugger Cemetery with Larry Bilbrey, Michael Mendez, Dean Mendez, Anthony Mendez, Torino Bosquez, and Matthew Mendez serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Silvester Mendez, Jr. and Bubba Bilbrey.
