Erma Lou "Luckie" Engbrock, age 97 of Seguin, passed away on January 21, 2018. "Luckie" was born on July 28, 1920 in Eufala, Oklahoma to James Robert and Mattie Arzettta (Carter) McGaughy. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, St. Ann's Circle and the Nogales Garden Club. Her family was the center of her life: she spent countless hours cooking, baking, and entertaining and also enjoyed gardening and arranging flowers. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Jerome M. Engbrock, her parents, her sister, Vineta Bischop, and brothers, James L. McGaughy and Arvil McGaughy. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Engbrock Gettig and husband David; grandson, Blake Christopher Gettig of Thibodaux, Louisiana; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by a time of visitation at 10 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in the St. James Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Gettig, David Gettig, Jeff Koehler, Bill Knobles, Dwight Peschel, Matt Engbrock, and Jerome Norris.
