Erna Grein Winsauer, age 99 of Seguin, passed away on August 22, 2017. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek, Rev. Gregory J. Nevlud, and Rev. David Tonary officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis, Texas with Rev. Raju Thottankara officiating. Erna was born on May 30, 1918 in Seguin Texas to Alfred and Hilda (Muehl) Grein. Erna will be remembered as a wonderful cook, baker, seamstress, and gardener. She was the perfect mother who taught by example. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugo Winsauer, her parents, her brothers, Van Grein and George Grein, and her sisters, Adophina Kirchner and Josephine Glenewinkel. Survivors include her daughters, Jane Kronke and husband Ed, and Carol Burgeson and husband Wallace; grandchildren, Monica Terrell and husband Jimmy, Shawnee Kunz and husband Bruce, Sharon Bartosch and husband Michael, Michelle Gregory and husband Glenn, and Bradley Wiechring and wife Misty; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Katie and husband Derek, Brent, Elizabeth, Nathan and wife Leah, Ryan, Bethany, Cameron, Amber, Cole, Allison, Kiley and Tanner; great-great grandchildren, Wyatt and Brynlee; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.
