Erno Joe Huebinger, died August 29, 2010 at the age of 87 in Seguin, Texas at home. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich and Pastoral Assistant Willie Spreen officiating. Interment will follow in the Lone Oak Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Myrtle Boenig Huebinger; three daughters, Helen Louise (Mrs. Robert) Drake, Hazel Lanell (Mrs. Richard) King and Hertha Lucille (Mrs. Thomas) Hill and one son Erno Keith Huebinger and his wife Claire; six grandchildren, Andrea King, Alan Drake, Hunter King and wife Britney, Lisa Drake, Ryan Drake and wife Sharon and Leia Hill; three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Peyton and Audrey King; one sister, Elsie Gessling; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Melvin and Anton Huebinger; one sister, Alice (Mrs. James) Heidelberg and three grandchildren, Philip Thomas Hill, Allen Keith Huebinger and Elah Kathryn Huebinger. He was born January 1, 1923 in Marion, Texas to Frieda "Voigt" and Ernst A. Huebinger. He was baptized on August 5, 1923 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels and later confirmed there on April 28, 1935. On September 12, 1945, he married Myrtle Boenig at Friedens United Church of Christ. He joined Friedens in 1946 and Emanuel's Lutheran in 1962. He served as an usher at Emanuel's Lutheran for 30+ years and served on the Monday Morning Financial Committee for 20+ years. He was a charter member and volunteer at the Silver Center. He was an avid gardener and loved to fish when he could and travel. He worked in the lumber business for about 60 years and owned and operated E.J. Washateria for 30 years.
