Esther Schraub Mann, age 92 of Seguin, passed away on September 14, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p. m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek Cemetery. Esther was born on August 5, 1921 in Seguin, Texas to Theodore and Agnes Hufft Schraub. She will be remembered as a loving care-giver to many in Guadalupe County, both through her work at nursing homes and individually. Her greatest joy was the love she had caring for her family. She enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes. Esther is preceded in death by her husband S. L. Mann, her daughter Carolyn Nicholson, her son Randy Mann, her parents, her brothers Ted Schraub and Edmond Schraub and his wife Joyce, her sister, Adeline Schmidt and her husband Jessie, and her infant sister Annie Mae Schraub and her sister-in-law Iris Schraub. Survivors include her children, Shirley Vela and husband Bob, Sam Mann and wife Doris, Mary Chapman and husband John, Janis Krueger –Jones, Ronald Mann, and Rodney Mann; brother, Ernest Schraub; sister-in-law, Lorene Schraub; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Schmidt, Tim Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt, Teddy Olsovsky, Wesley Krueger, Joe Miller, and Larry Routh. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center for their loving care of Esther the past four years.
