Eva S. Gutierrez entered into eternal rest on Wednesday September 9, 2015 at the age of 81. Eva was born on January 7, 1934 in McQueeney, Texas to Epimenio and Paula Suarez. She was raised by her father and step-mother Juanita. As a young girl, she worked at their family owned grocery store, where she met her husband Florentino C. Gutierrez Jr., "Chico". Chico and Eva were married in 1952. For 63 years, they raised 7 children and shared a life of faith, family and love. For many years, Eva took care of children and loved being a "Nana," and later a "Meemo". She loved spending time with family and bringing joy to others. Eva welcomed everyone with open arms and had an abundance of unconditional love. She was loyal, caring and selfless and will be dearly missed. Eva is lovingly remembered by her husband Chico, daughters Irma (Tom), Delia, Eva Marie (Frank), and son Carlos "Charlie" (Cindy). Grandchildren, Deandra (Daniel), Robert "Bobby", Connor, Miranda, Callie, Carly and Great-Grandson Matthew. Eva is also survived by brothers, Modesto Suarez, Epimenio Suarez Jr., Abraham Suarez, Joe Suarez (Lupe), sisters, Janie Varela, Lupe Ryan (Pat), Matilda Fant (Charles), Gloria Castillo (Freddy), Diana Puente (Felix) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sons, John, Joseph and Roberto "Bobby" and son-in-law Ricky Gonzales. Visitation will be held Monday September 14, 2015 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. A private family procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel (all friends meet at the church) for the mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jaime Gutierrez, Ben S. Varela, Jr., Bobby Gutierrez, Daniel Vega, Connor Guasti and Daniel Cadriel.
