Evelyn Hoffmann, age 80 of Seguin, passed away on April 15, 2019. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2 pm at St. James Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 pm at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Evelyn was born on June 29, 1938 in Guadalupe County to August and Frida (Boenig) Hoffmann. She was a 1956 graduate of Navarro High School and was also a part of the 1954 Navarro State Championship Basketball team. She worked for many years as an Executive Assistant for companies such as Bock Motor Company and Dean Word Company; eventually retiring with Motorola. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, and her dear friend Joe Michaels. Survivors include her sister, Virginia Hoffmann; her aunt, Joyce Hoffmann; Maggie her beloved dog; and numerous other cousins, family members, and many many friends. Evelyn was an avid gardener, she had a green thumb and could plant just about anything you could think of! She loved the outdoors and would often be outside enjoying the sunshine in her glorious garden. She was also a devoted Spurs Fan. Evelyn will fondly be remembered for caring for her cousins children who lovingly called her "Evie", especially Andrew and Julia. She will be remembered for her kind smile and loving nature and will be dearly missed. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 196 Townsend Rd.
