Ezra Allan "Doc" Ramsey was born on April 15, 1928 in Timpson, Texas to Virgil M. Ramsey and Ida L. Ramsey. He passed away on November 13, 2008 in Seguin, Texas. Allan is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lilla Frances Ramsey of 57 years; they were married on June 14, 1951 in Commerce, Texas; his children Stephen A. Ramsey, Terry L. Ramsey, and Marsha L. Castanon; grandchildren Andrea De Leon, Justin Ramsey, Matthew Ramsey, Kevin Ramsey, and Katie Ramsey; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Clifford Ramsey and sister Zelma Breaden. He is preceded in death by one of his brother's Victor L. Ramsey. Allan received his Bachelor's Degree at East Texas State University in 1951 and a Master's Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1965. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree, he enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951. While on active duty he received orders in 1952 for Operation Tumbler – Snapper at the Nevada Proving Ground, where nuclear weapons tests were conducted. Allan had a career in journalism and photography at several colleges and also at the high school level in Texas and Oklahoma. Allan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at the Tres Hewell Mortuary on November 16th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be at the Tres Hewell Chapel on November 17th at 2:00 pm with a procession to follow at the San Geronimo Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with military honors.
