F. L. "Mike" Chastain, age 81 of Gonzales County, passed away on July 8, 2015. Private services will be held at a later date. Mike was born on May 16, 1934 in Salem Oregon to Leonard Floyd and Edith Evelyn (Stephens) Chastain. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and United States Air Force for twenty one years. He enjoyed teaching flying and playing golf. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael E. Chastain, his parents, and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Diana A. Chastain; daughters, Jean Constable and husband Kirk, and Suzanne Nauert and husband James; several surviving siblings; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity on one's choice.
