Mr. Felipe T. Garza, age 65 of Seguin, passed away on February 3, 2009. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Tina Luna officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. Felipe was born on May 1, 1943 in San Marcos, Texas to Francisco and Julia Torres Garza. He was retired from Hexcel Corporation in Seguin. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Stephana Fabian, his mother-in-law, Isabel Sanchez and his daughter-in-law, Amy Velasquez. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lydia S. Garza; sons, Bobby Garza of Austin, Jay Velasquez and wife, Jill and Willie Velasquez and partner, Susie Pena; grandchildren, Zenia Rosales and husband, Felix, Jr., Willie Velasquez, Jr. and wife, Alysia and Vanessa Velasquez and fiance, Elias Valenzuela; great-grandchildren, DeZerae Guerrero and partner, Javier Medina, Isaiah Rosales, Anthony Velasquez and Francisco Paredez, III; great-great granddaughter, Makayla Medina; brothers, Marcelino Garza and wife, Janie, Valentin Garza and Domingo Garza all of Austin, Henry Garza and wife, Simona of San Marcos; brother-in-law, Ted Fabian of San Marcos;numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of one's choice.
