Flora Casas Hernandez, age 80 of Nixon, TX, joined our Lord and Savior on November 11, 2019. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Thursday, November 14, 2019 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon with Rev. Kuriakose Ouseph officiating. Interment will follow in the Nixon Latin America Cemetery. Flora was born on November 27, 1938 in El Campo, TX, to Lino and Maria (Bustamante) Casas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Hernandez, son, Juan Ector Hernandez, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Ernesto Casas and wife Venus, Sandia Guerra, and Reynaldo Casas; grandchildren, Jessica Arce and husband Chris, Emily Bennet, and Steven Guerra; great-grandchildren, Grayson Lamar, Avery Christopher, Trevor Scott, and Francesca Rose; brothers, Frank Casas, and John Casas; sister, Gloria Rodriguez and husband Louis; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
