Frances J. "Jo Ann" Lenardson, age 83 of Seguin, passed away on September 1, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Jim Merket officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Jo Ann was born in Swea City, Iowa on February 6, 1932 to Lawrence and Verda Belle (Christenson) Zwiefel. As a young child, Jo Ann was raised on her grandparents dairy farm in Lone Rock, Iowa, helping with the daily chores of milking cows, collecting eggs from the chickens, and making sure there was always some milk left for the many cats in the barn. After attending High School in Lone Rock, she attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. On October 31, 1950, Jo Ann married Harley Lenardson in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She enjoyed crocheting and lovingly made many gifts for her family and friends. In her quiet moments you could always find her enjoying a good book. She was a member of the Seguin Chapter of the Elks Women's Auxiliary and a member of the Seguin Senior "Silver" Center. She is preceded in death by her parents and her grandsons, Christopher Lenardson and Cole Lenardson. Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Harley Lenardson; son, Bill Lenardson and wife Glenna; daughters, Gail Harshman and husband Mark, and Carol Lenardson and husband Greg Farrell; grandchildren, Benjamin Lyle and wife Dana, Zachary Lyle and wife Shannon, Robin Farrell and Hannah Farrell; great-granddaughter, Myah Lenardson.
