IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Francis "Pat"
Patrick Carney
May 8, 1940 – January 21, 2023
Francis Patrick "Pat" Carney, age 82 of Seguin, passed away on January 21, 2023. Pat was born on May 8, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Lucille Gertrude (Cool) and Francis Patrick Carney, Sr. Pat was born in Ohio but was raised in Dallas, Texas. Therefore, he always said he was born in Texas.
Pat studied Business at Texas A & I in Kingsville. With his degree he worked at Goodyear in Seguin, Texas until he joined Prentice Hall in San Antonio. Pat worked for Prentice Hall when he saw the opportunity to step out on a new adventure. That adventure opened Law Libraries, Inc. During those years Pat played baseball several nights a week and tournaments on the weekend. His girls would cheer him on and loved when he hit the baseball out of the park. There were also bowling leagues. Once again, there were loud cheers when he made strikes. Pat was an avid hunter. Several of his trophies are entered into the Record Book of Trophy Animals, issued by Safari Club International Volume 1 and Volume 2. It was out of the love of the African carvings that Kudu Exclusives was born and Seguin was once again home. If it wasn't hunting season then Pat was on his boat, fishing. He would go as far as Mazatlán or stay close and fish at Port Aransas.
Survivors include his loving wife, Juliana Carney from South Africa; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Engelhardt-Pena (Ralph) and Mary Louise Leatherwood (Bobby); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to thank Resolute Hospital in New Braunfels. As a patient he was known as the whistler. The physicians, nurses and all other staff took the time needed to prepare Pat for his next journey.
Charitable donations can be made to Christian Cupboard, 516 N. Camp Street, Seguin, Texas 78155.
"I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold," Psalm 18: 1-3
"Seek to carry out all I say, and such understanding, insight, vision, and joy will be yours as shall pass indeed all understanding. The plans of God are very wonderful beyond your highest hopes."
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
