Francisco "Pops" Mendoza Gonzalez, age 70 of Seguin, passed away on December 14, 2020. Pops was born on February 13, 1950 in Frontera, Mexico to Andres and Ma De Jesus (Mendoza) Gonzalez. Pops retired from Navarro ISD from Janitorial Services after many years with the district. He loved travelling to casinos to gamble and also play bingo. "Always hoping to win the big one, but he never did". He did win big with his family, whom he cherished with every ounce of his being! He was fondly known as "Pops" to all his children, grandchildren, and everyone at the school district. He loved spending time with his family more than anything and loved his chickens and his dog Cash. Pops is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Juan Mendoza Gonzalez, In-laws, Valerio and Sara Hernandez, brothers-in-law, Johnny Garcia and Valerio Hernandez Jr., sisters-in-law, Mary Hernandez Rodriguez and Laura Hernandez. Survivors include his wife of 30 years whom he adored with every ounce of his soul, Ester Hernandez Gonzalez; his children, Joshua Gonzalez, Alvin Morales, Roxianne Maurelli and husband Giuseppee Andre and Naomi Flores and husband Alphonso; grandchildren, Jr. and wife Alyssa, Austen, Robert, Meranda and Claire; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Micha and Allora; brothers, Victor Mendoza Gonzalez and Cesar Mendoza Bortoni and wife Lettie; siblings-in-law, Alice Garcia, Rosalinda Esquivel and husband Lupe, Abel Hernandez and wife Mary, Arthuro Hernandez, Ruben Hernandez and Nadine Hernandez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many many friends.
