Frank Charles Matheaus, age 85 of Geronimo, passed away on November 11, 2021. Frank was born on October 2, 1936 in Jim Wells County, Texas to Thekla (Funke) and Oscar Oswald Matheaus. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thekla (Funke) and Oscar O. Matheaus. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanette Matheaus; sons, Richard Matheaus (Juliane), Mike Matheaus (Monica); grandchildren, Kayla Jarzombek (Edward), Kacie Stolowski (Frank), Karlie Stidham (Haeden), Gabrielle Alanis, Felipe Alanis; great-granddaughter, Charlotte June Jarzombek and sister, Dorothy Gentry (Johnny); numerious neices, newphews, other loving family members and many friends.
Frank worked for TX DOT for 30 plus years and retired there. During his retirement he worked for H-E-B part time. He was an avid farmer on the family farm and also enjoyed riding the red buggy to Richard and Juliane's to feed the chickens scraps. Frank planted a pecan orchard in the back of his home which is still there today.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Cross Church with the Rev. Jim Price officiating and military honors rendered. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Private interment will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Haberle, James Schuler, Kevin, Duane, Greg and Byron Krueger.
