On February 28, 2026, Fred went home to be with Jesus. Frederick John Lamsfuss and his twin brother Otto were born to Otto Carl Lamsfuss and Martha Uckermark Lamsfuss in Mt. Vernon, New York, on December 9, 1941.

The family moved to New Brunswick, New Jersey where Fred graduated from high school. He set records in pole vaulting, was a track and football star and sang in the choir. He received many honors in these areas.

After high school Fred joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Lackland, Germany and Randolf AFB.

Fred started his faith life in the Missionary Alliance Church. As an Adult he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church and School in New Braunfels, TX. He faithfully attended church and Bible studies with the assurance that he was a saved child of God.

Fred worked as an Auto Cad electrical draftsman and retired from CMC/SMI of Seguin, Texas. In 1990, he met the love of his life and was married to Kristen Boehlke at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Belton, Texas.

Fred loved to sing and was in church choirs and the San Antonio Lutheran Choral.

He enjoyed the country life raising chickens and Guinea Hens. He planted an orchard especially mulberry and fig trees. He always had a garden and loved the fresh produce. He loved the wild dew berries growing in the field. You could always find him outside.

He is preceded in death by parents, Otto Lamsfuss and Martha Lamsfuss, mother-in-law Audrey Boehlke, father-in-law Melvin Boehlke, his sister Helene Grunden and brother-in-law Robert Grunden, his sister Rita Jacot and husband Ralph, his twin brother Otto Lamsfuss, nephew Robert Grunden Jr., niece in-law Sharri Grunden, niece Karen Nourse, son in-law James Salters Jr., sister-in law Eleanor Lamsfuss, nephew Arthur Lamsfuss.

Fred is survived by his loving wife Kristen; sister-in-law Grace Lamsfuss; brother Richard Lamsfuss; sister-in-law Candy Kaspar and husband Neal; brother-in-law Keith Boehlke and wife Doris; brother-in-law Craig Boehlke and wife Jennifer; son Carl Lamsfuss; daughter Sandra Salters; daughter Dawn Mays and husband Toby; niece Susan Saccente and husband Joseph; nephew Michael Lamsfuss and Kaori Tashiro; nephew Joel Lamsfuss; nephew Eric Grunden and his wife Margo; niece Kristina Sherman; nephew Jason Kaspar and wife Mandy; nephew James Boehlke and wife Candy; grandchildren Claire Lamsfuss, Meghan/Morgan Lamsfuss, and James Salters III; great nieces and nephews and their families: Joseph and Kelsey Saccente and Vincent, Halie and Kristopher Rivero and Rowan and Elowyn, Katie and Gerard Harley and Gerard, Elizabeth Nourse, Richard and Misty Nourse and Jesse and Jake, Freya Grunden, Kassandra Sherman, Gunnar Boehlke, and Kirah Boehlke; and many friends.

The funeral service will be at 11:00am, March 7, 2026, at Cross Lutheran Church 2171 Common St., in New Braunfels, Texas. Suggested colors for the funeral are purple, green or blue. Visitation is at 10:00 am. The service will be live streamed at Cross Lutheran Church and School, New Braunfels, Texas on YouTube or Facebook. There will be a luncheon reception following. Interment will be on Tuesday, March 10 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in La Grange, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Cross Lutheran Church and School, 2171 Common Street., New Braunfels, Texas and designate it to the school scholarship fund.
